First Team vs Gosforth

The Football Academy First Team came into this week’s National Cup fixture fresh from the half-term break, following a week of training.

They started the game full of passion and purpose, playing very quick flowing football and exploiting the opposition in the wide areas early on. KFA went 1-0 up inside 10 minutes with a goal from Bailey Hazon. Although KFA kept up the intense pressure, Gosforth Academy went into the halftime break 2-1.

Composure was key in the second half with the players showing resolve and pressing Gosforth, causing them problems on all areas of the pitch.

KFA equalized with a well worked free kick, with Bailey Hazon getting his second goal of the game. KFA kicked on and dominated the remainder of the game, with a further two goals from Hazon and two from Aiden Blench, to round off a convincing 6-2 victory to progress into the 4th round of the English Schools Playstation National Cup.

Academy Manager Ross McKay said, “It was a great performance tonight from everyone involved. Our philosophy and style of play was evident in large parts of the game, taking what we have worked on in training into a match is great for any coach to see. We look forward to the draw for the next round”

Kingsmeadow Development V Dyke House

A great performance from our year 7 Football Academy Development Team for their outstanding win on Monday night. The team have been unfortunate in recent weeks but got rewarded for their attitude, development and hard work.

The exciting game ended with Kingsmeadow winning 6-3 against Dyke House to advance to the third round of the ESFA ‘B’ Playstation Cup.

Everyone involved in the squad showed great qualities and “Man of the Match” could have been awarded to any member of the team, but it just went to Morgan Waggott, who showed great quality as well as working tirelessly throughout. Well done to all and we look forward to the next round.
