Careers, Experience and Enrichment

Students are offered impartial advice about careers and further study during their time in sixth form.  Our pastoral programme includes time to research careers and university courses as well as complete the UCAS application process.  With this in mind, one week of work experience is scheduled into Year 12 timetables and students are encouraged to seek out appropriate placements early.

Furthermore, we offer a range of enrichment opportunities which allow students to develop their employability and social skills as well as extend their personal interests and compile a range of experiences to draw on for personal statements and CVs.  Our current enrichment programme includes the following activities:

  • Paired reading
  • Cookery club
  • More Able mentoring
  • After school football club
  • Maths period 6
  • Conversational Spanish
  • Welcome mentors
  • Sixth form ambassadors

Students are also encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the National Volunteer Service, the Duke of Edinburgh Award and Kingsmeadow Football Academy.
